Dalila Mendez is a Chicago-based artist whose work bridges the conscious and subconscious through illustrative narratives rooted in dark humor and psychological horror. Working across drawing, printmaking, and oil painting, Mendez integrates anatomical imagery with vintage toys and found objects sourced from local flea markets. Driven by a fascination with horror cinema and historical archives, she creates unsettling visual worlds to challenge societal norms and systemic power structures. Mendez earned an Associate in Arts from Malcolm X College and is currently completing her Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis in drawing at Northeastern Illinois University. She actively exhibits her work in the Chicagoland area; her recent credits include the group exhibition Absurdity: In Dada We Trust (Highland Park, IL) and her solo exhibition, Creatures of Mischief Manor (Chicago, IL).
